So it is complete. My 2012 birthday aprons for my ladies. Here is the last on for Cata in Ohio. Joke is, the color matches the orange shag carpet in her house. I love this one - even found ribbon to match.

In case you have not noticed, I am a little ADHD. Have lots of projects going at once and love them all. I have been working a while on these darling aprons for my girls. The big girls for their birthdays. I finished Jessica's in time to get it to her on the day. Stephanie's is in the mail and .........Caitlin's birthday is not until the end of the month. I found the pattern on the web. As soon as i track it down i will post the site. They are all made out of either oilcloth or coated cotton. They are all a little different. I love them.

My last post was over a year ago. It has been one hell of a year. I am going to be better about posting this year. I am going to start with a few pictures of some of the crochet projects i have completed. Some of them are long gone without pictures, but that is ok. With every gift goes a bit of love. Now to see if i remember how to get the pictures to show.

I did little girl things:

This one went to baby Whitney.Zoey modeled this during Andrew's winging.
My first attempt at a sweater went to Zoey for her birthday. Leilani got a pink camo sweater for those chilly California evenings.
Lauren gets this for her birthday, wish it was big enough for me. The three littlest girls got matching dresses and hairbows for Klaus and Alyssa's wedding. I did not make the dress but did make the flowers for the dresses and hair decorations.
I also had a good time making pillows and an afgan just for me.

I love this book!!! The pictures dont do it justice but my good camera is not charged so i used the old one. I hope Savanah is happy!!!

I am not showing all the pages - there are at least two water color pages with stamps in brown of either designs or sayings on each. There is lots of space for journaling or putting pictures of family and or friends. There are a couple of envelopes tucked in to save special things in too.

There will also be some of the paper that was used on the pages included so SRK can use them in the book if she wants.

Here are the inside pages that are supposed to reflect what she likes to do and what she is involved in. Hope i got it all correct.

This was really fun - hope she likes it!!!

Wedding Album - I Love Black and White

I completed the album I saw in my dreams. I know to some of you it may not seem like that big of a deal - but my dreams don't let go sometimes until I act on them.

That being said - here is the album of my dreams for Leah and Joel. And to think I have to get it to Australia.
This book is all shades of black and white.

Everyone needs a little ribbon and bling. I may add a bit more, it is the only thing I am undecided about.

And this is the whole book. The wedding dress is spritzed with Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Old Lace. It added just the right sparkle to go with the pearls.

Between all the pages is a pretty envelope and some blank white pages to add anything they want.

My favorite page is the TUX. Just can't resist it and the bling for the button.

Hours, Days, Weeks, I worked on these boxes forever. Was going to make three more but changed my mind before I lost it. The boys are getting round cards. I will post them when done. These belong to the 3 little girls. Always fun to have something to open, and open, and open. In case you don't believe that I made three of them here they are.

Lala's Birthday book

The next birthday is the six year old grand daughter. I made her a book of sayings with the letters of her name. It may be over her head right now but it is pretty to look at and the sayings made me think of her. She is also getting some scrap book supplies to play with and her first James Avery charm bracelet. (If you are from south Texas you know what i am talking about.) Here is the book.

Travel Journal's

Talking about fast and easy. I found travel journals at M's for cheep, cheep, cheep and played around with them. I used my Glimmer Mist for the first time, and rub-ons. Added a flower, some thickers and ribbon and check them out. They are both a little different. They came with a plastic cover bound front and back and the elastic ribbon to hold them closed. How lucky could I get!!!

I have three new birthday cards to post. Actually one was given on the 30th of August so I am really behind. There was a book that went with it but I ran out of picture time. Best thing is it was for my father in law and I will see him and the book again soon. Here is his birthday card. Everyone that makes it to their 80th birthday deserves a little bling on their birthday even if it is brown.

I have fallen behind again. There are no new pictures. But the projects are stacked up. I have been just working away. Had to stop Halloween prep for Lala's birthday. Almost done. Should post by tomorrow. I have 2 travel journals - just KB'd up a couple of great Michael's finds (they were $1.50). Have to keep track of how we get to Australia and back. Will post tomorrow.

McKenzie's Birthday Book

I did it! I finished Mc's book in time for her to get it at her new home on her big second birthday. I included pictures of all of her family, mom and dad's sides. I think it turned out pretty neat - her big brother even read it to her on her birthday night. There was an extra in the box with the book. A quilt by K to match the book. It is a quickie tie the yarn quilt, not bad with a broken finger.

Ok, Yes now we know i have lost it. Once i got started on the birthday book for Grumps I decided that his boys, the dogs, needed to give him a card too. So check this out I amde a square around book. Lots of folding but then you open it up and you get your square with room for all sorts of things. I thought it was very appropriate to add the little paper bags with sayings and hanging tags. See what you think.

So today is the day. Grumps clicks the number up on his birthday count. Since I seem to be hooked on making books, I decided that an explosion book would be ever so right. I even added an origami shirt on the last page. It reminds us of the shirts he wears that we make fun of.

I found the Old Guys Rule paper in town and on sale, only making it better. I did a bit of extra cutting and have layered something on most every page. What fun this was.

While searching for additional Old Guys paper I found they had a clothing line also. So the "old guy" got some new clothes to match the book.

Family Picture Books

The last time my whole gang was together we took lots of pictures. With all out kids and grandkids. I made each family a book out of plastic dividers that came in my Art Bin storage boxes. They turned out great. Here are a few pictures to show what I did. It really is not anything special. Just put the pictures in, gave each tab a label, made a cover and bound them (love the Bind-It-All). There are little pockets behind some of the pictures so we can put tags with addresses and birthdays.

Mini Maze Book

This is way too much fun!! One 12x12 sheet of heavy patterned paper (single side is all you need). Two small pieces of cardstock, a little ribbon, colored cardstock and there you go. You have a book. You can find the instructions in thousands of places for one of these books. I made a practice book first so I could understand the folds and cuts. It all made perfect sense and I made a perfect book. Now I just have to figure out what to put in it.

Busy Busy Busy

I have been soooooooo busy trying to use my creative juices to make things for everyone. I have multiple things to post but have not had the oportunity to upload the pictures. I have a coffee filter book, a coaster book, family picture book from the dividers from an ArtBin storage container. I have made an Explosion Box, mini maze book, lunch bag albums, am trying my hand at an explosion book, square around mini album as well as a circle book. I will work on uploading the pictures tomorrow.

I am so excited. This is so much fun. I have so many projects in the works I don't know what to do next.

Cata's Texas Memory Book

Cata and her babies moved to Cleveland today. She is a Texan, born and bred. Her growing up happened in the state except for a short time in the land of fruits and nuts (San Diego County, California). She has lived on the gulf coast, on the Texas Mexico boarder and in Aggieland. She is a Texan. Following is the book I created for her to take with her to OHIO.

Last weekend when we were in Katy helping the kids get packed for their move to OHIO they had a stack of lunch sacks that no one had used. Instead of going in the trash they came home with me and now both of the kids have books to take with them on the trip. Here is McKenzie's name book.

I'm Back.......................

OK, I know it has been a while but I'm back and do I ever have things to show you. I am going to start with a short diatribe and i hope y ou will all just bare with me. I have 3 kids and 6 grandbabies. In the last 3 weeks, two of those families, that include my middle child (daughter), and youngest (son), have moved out of the state. I am so thrilled I have my oldest child (daughter) an hour and 1/2 away with her husband and two beautiful, wonderful kids.

My daughter that is moving, is going to Ohio so her husband can step into a roll in his family's business. Ohio will be a much better place with my family members there. Just wish it was not so far away from Texas.

My son that has moved, is a Lieutenant in the Marine Corps and is in flight school in Pensacola, Florida. His gang is there with him and they have a great place close to the beach. May the hurricanes avoid Florida while they are there. (Both of the moving families went through Hurricane IKE last year in the Houston area and know what it is like when Mother Nature PMS'.)

My husband has been eligible to retire from his job for almost 2 years. As of today he has 36 months and 14 days before he is mandatory. We are going to look at a place in the country this weekend.

Telephone Address Tag Books

It is with a very heavy heart that I am now creating my newest projects. My middle child and her great family and my son and his great family are all moving out of the state. I created these simple telephone address books for them to get all their friends info before they leave. Texas is a big state and they were both 3 hours away. Now one is moving to Ohio and the other to Florida. It will not longer be that early morning drive to go visit.

Father's Day Book

The biggest project to date has just been completed. I put my Cricut, Cuttlebug and Crop-a-Dile to work to get this one done. All the kids help gather photos and artwork or notes. I put them all together and here they are. Grumps got a little teary eyed. We love it.

I finally got the boy's initial books done enough to post them. It is hard to decide what to embellish with because i don't want to make them too "girly". I will dress them a bit when the pictures are there. I am practicing with my Crop-a-dial and will definately use it on these.

Girl Initial Books

I am truly blessed to have six crazy grand kids to create things for and with. Here are the covers for the girls individual picture books. Their initials were welded to the covers in Design Studio. Since they are all still young (need I say destructive) I only put the initials on the covers. All inside pages were cut on my paper cutter to size. I cannot wait to put the first pictures in them. I am trying to post my first pictures of a project. I had dreams about this word book for days. Could not wait for my Cricut to get here as well as my Design Studio software. I was hooked from the start. You will have to forgive me for the difference in the size of the pictures and for the white out on the faces (and a few spaces i cannot figure out how to remove). I am a bit worried about posting face shots.

It seems that my life (and dollars) this last month or so has revolved around things that begin with C. I purchased a Cricut Expression and 2 Cartridges. Unfortunately the cartridges seem to multiply like bunnies and subtract from my Cash. I have found that Oh My Crafts and the Cricut web sites have deals with percentages off and Michaels ~ though you cannot use coupons on the Cricut ~ puts the Cartridges on sale every now and then. I will be posting some of the projects I have done in the near future. I have also found a great way to store my new equipment.
A friend gave ~ yes I said gave ~ me a Cuttlebug. I have have not used it yet but that is planned for this evening.
I also have a Crop-a-Dial and a Bind it all. If you have not seen or used a Bind it all you need to. It is a real feeling of Completion when you pull the handle and make all those pages into a book.
